Linked-evidence model of qualitative G6PD testing

Viewed: 277

This model compares the number of severe haemolysis events and Plasmodium vivax recurrences within 6 months of treatment for three scenarios; low-dose primaquine (PQ) provided to all patients (baseline), low-dose PQ provided to patients who test G6PD-normal using a qualitative G6PD test and intermediate-dose PQ provided to patients to test G6PD-normal on a qualitative G6PD test. In the G6PD testing scenarios, patients who test G6PD-deficient are provided 8-week PQ.

The model is created in the TreeAge Pro Healthcare (2024) software and represents a theoretical population of 10,000 male P. vivax patients with a 1% prevelance of G6PD-deficiency.
