After graduating with a Bachelor of Pharmacy from the University of Queensland, Judith worked in both public and private hospitals and managed community pharmacies in metropolitan and rural Queensland and the UK, as well as owning two community pharmacies. In 2009, Judith commenced working for Medication Services Queensland, Queensland Health, as a Senior Project Officer in the area of New Models of Pharmacy Practice and was a recipient of a Queensland Health award for her research and work in this area. From 2007 – 2014 Judith was a lecturer in the School of Pharmacy, University of Queensland teaching in both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Judith joined QUT in January 2015. Judith’s research focus is in sustainability; specifically, increasing the engagement of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians with pro-environmental behaviours in the workplace, pharmaceutical waste disposal, and reducing the carbon footprint of pharmaceutical care delivery. Judith also researches in disaster health management, looking at the impacts of disasters on community pharmacy operations and primary health care systems and infrastructure. She is research lead of the EARTH (Environmentally Active Research Transforming Healthcare) research group based at QUT.
