Dr Dr Mahboobeh Shahbazi
Science and Engineering Faculty
Earth, Environmental and Biological Sciences
Mahboobeh Shahbazi has been a researcher at the Queensland University of Technology since 2015 and is currently an Advance Queensland Research Fellow. Her main expertise is the design, fabrication and characterisation of superconducting (SC) materials for practical applications. This is achieved by correlating the structure, physics and chemistry of materials with their bulk physical and electronic properties.
Mahboobeh's research has explored a variety of topics including solar cells, iron- and boron- based superconductors, superparamagnetic materials and borides. The Advance Queensland Fellowship in partnership with Siemens (Aust) Pty Ltd focuses on development of new SC components with low thermal loss and high power density for use in high efficiency motors.
