Adjunct Professor Rob Labrom is a Spinal Orthopaedic Surgeon who joined the Biomechanics and Spine Research Group over 15 years ago as a collaborative Clinical Research Director. His clinical expertise ensures the research performed by the group’s members is clinically driven and directly impacts patient care.
Dr Labrom completed his undergraduate medical training at the University of Queensland in 1992. He completed his Orthopaedic Specialist training in Australia and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2000. In 2002, he completed a Masters degree at University of British Columbia (Vancouver, Canada) specialising in Spine Biomechanics.
He has a special interest in spine deformity in children and adolescents and performs complex and innovative surgeries to improve their quality of life. He is also involved in training the Spine Surgeons of the future and the supervision of our higher degree student’s projects.
