Jan Recker is Full Professor in the School of Management at the QUT Business School. Prior to this appointment, he was Professor and inaugural Woolworths Chair of Retail Innovation in QUT”s Information System School. He is a Fellow of the Alexander-von-Humboldt Foundation and a Fellow of the Liechtenstein Chapter of the Association for Information Systems. Jan has won several awards for his research, most of which is currently in the areas of Organizational Innovation, Conceptual Modelling and Green IS. Organizational Innovation describes practices by which organizations seek to improve their business models and provide new products and services to consumers. Conceptual Modelling is a popular approach for analyzing and building software as well as organizational systems, by starting with models of how an organization works. I focus specifically on process models. Green IS concerns how organizations can leverage information systems to improve their ecological footprint, and how individuals can engage in environmentally sustainable behaviors at work.
