Dr Feras Dayoub is a senior lecturer with the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in QUT. Before that, Feras was a research fellow with the Australian Centre of Excellence for Robotic Vision (ACRV) – Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Feras obtained his PhD in 2012 from Lincoln Centre for Autonomous Systems (L-CAS), UK. He is interested in the deployment of machine learning and computer vision on mobile robots in challenging environments. Feras worked with various types of robots such as Agrobotics — as part of a Queensland DAF Agricultural Robotics Program in QUT, Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV) — as the computer vision lead on the COTSBot project. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) — as part of a project for assisted autonomy during the inspection of power infrastructure and mobile service robots — as a postdoc in an Australian research council discovery project on lifelong robotic navigation using visual perception.
