Samford Ecological Research Facility (SERF)

THe Samford Ecological Research Facility (SERF) is located in the Samford Valley, Brisbane Queensland.  It provides a 51 hectare research, teaching and learning base for a range of ecological, engineering, built environment and educational programs for the Queensland University of Technology, inclduing soil, water and air quality, groundwater systems, microbiology and plant biology.  The Institute for Future Environments (IFE) manages the property which is consists of 70% vegetation coverage in a subtropical climate, providing refuge to native plants and animals.  The vegetation is protected and classified under the Vegetation Management Act 1999.
